Java Foods

Alliance for Inclusive & Nutritious Food Processing

Java Foods has been working in partnership with the Alliance for Inclusive and Nutritious Food Processing (AINFP) since 2017. AINFP is co-funded by the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) (as part of the U.S. Government’s Feed the Future initiative and Partners in Food Solutions (PFS). PFS is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that utilizes the expertise of its volunteers to assist with technical and business needs of food processors in the developing world. TechnoServe (a non-profit specializing in business solutions to poverty) has supported Java Foods with project implementation on the ground.

During the years of engagement, the AINFP and its alliance partners have provided technical support to Java Foods which includes equipment purchase and line set up for the localized production of fortified instant noodles, product formulation and shelf-life analysis support to name a few interventions.

Livewell

Livewell is an impact-driven social business that promotes health, provides access to health products and supports livelihoods in under-served communities through a network of trained Community Health Entrepreneurs. Java Foods partnered with Live Well in 2018 and through the network of CHE’s, Java Food products are being sold and consumed by customers in rural areas in particular in Eastern, Central and Luapula Provinces of Zambia. Our partnership with Livewell has meant that CHE’s across Zambia (whom are predominantly women) have been able to promote healthier living through the sale of Java’s fortified products and have also been able to earn an income through the sale of the products into their communities.
