Java Foods was founded in 2012 with a simple but powerful belief: that Zambia has everything it needs to feed itself well.
Our founder, Monica Musonda, left a distinguished legal career, spanning Clifford Chance, the International Finance Corporation, and the Dangote Group, to come home and build something of her own. Her years working alongside one of Africa’s most celebrated entrepreneurs gave her both the courage and the blueprint.
She came back to a country blessed with rich agricultural land, yet importing over 70% of its food. She saw locally grown wheat being used only for bread and confectionery, and an opportunity to do something different. So in 2012, she founded Java Foods.
eeZee Instant Noodles was our first product. For six years we built the brand through an import model, growing demand and consumer trust before making the move to manufacture locally. Today, our production facility in Lusaka’s Industrial Area is one of the most advanced of its kind in the region, and a genuine source of national pride.
Our factory is the only instant noodle factory in Zambia that is internationally certified and whose product carries the Zambia Bureau of Standards mark of quality.
We are just getting started. Our range is growing, and every product we launch carries the same promise: great-tasting, nutritious, and proudly Zambian.

Java Foods is a proudly Zambian food company, built from the ground up to bring quality, affordable food to families across the country. From our factory right here in Lusaka to kitchen tables nationwide, everything we make is crafted with one goal: nourishing Zambian families, one meal at a time.

We know life is busy. Families need meals that are quick, nutritious, and easy on the pocket. Our mission is to nourish Zambian families by producing high-quality food products from locally sourced ingredients, and to improve livelihoods through every step of our value chain.
We are grateful to be a part of your daily life in homes, schools, and workplaces. Thank you for welcoming us to your table.

We believe in the connection between people, land, and food. When we care for the soil, it sustains us. When we invest in our people, we all grow. When we build something together, it lasts.
Our vision is to become a leading branded food company in Southern Africa. A company whose products are synonymous with quality, value, nutrition, and convenience. A vision rooted in shared growth: for our consumers, our farmers, our team, and our country.

Approximately 80% of our raw materials are sourced locally. We work directly with Zambian farmers and suppliers, strengthening domestic agricultural value chains and supporting sustainable development across the country.
By manufacturing locally, we create jobs, develop skills, and invest in the long-term future of Zambia’s food sector. Every eeZee packet you buy supports something bigger than a meal.
Building a better food future for Zambia is not something we can do alone. Java Foods works alongside organisations that share our belief that good food, fairly priced and well distributed, has the power to change lives. These are some of the partnerships we are proud to be part of.

Partners In Foods Solutions
Our partnership with Partners in Food Solutions has been transformative for Java Foods. When we set out to locally manufacture fortified instant cereal in Zambia, we lacked the technical expertise to make it happen. PFS connected us with volunteer food scientists and engineers from General Mills and Cargill, who helped get our plant up and running — from good manufacturing practices to product formulation. It is a partnership that proves expert knowledge, freely shared, can strengthen Africa’s food systems from the inside out.

Manja Pamodzi
“Manja Pamodzi” — eating together — is more than a name. It captures exactly what this partnership stands for. Through our work with Manja Pamodzi, Java Foods is helping to put food on the table for Zambian families who need it most, reinforcing our belief that food is not just nourishment for the body, but a way of bringing communities together. This collaboration reflects the kind of company Java Foods is committed to being: one that measures its success not only in products sold, but in lives touched.

Shoprite Soup Kitchen
Every day, over 1,000 students across Lusaka and the Copperbelt receive a hot, nutritious meal through the Shoprite Soup Kitchen programme — and Java Foods is proud to be part of making that happen. For many of these students, this meal is a vital source of daily nourishment, helping them stay in school, stay focused, and stay healthy.
This partnership is a direct expression of what Java Foods stands for: affordable, nutritious food, in the hands of the people who need it most. We are incredibly proud of the scale of what we are doing together, and deeply committed to growing it.
